Yuzuko Horigome  .

Born in Tokyo, Yuzuko Horigome began learning piano at the age of four and violin a year later with Ryosaku Kubota. In 1980 she became the first Japanese to win the first prize in the  Queen Elisabeth Competition.

Her honors list includes collaborations with the Berliner Philharmoniker, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, the symphony orchestras of London, Chicago, Saint Petersburg, Montreal, Vienna and Tokyo, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam, the orchestra of the Scala of Milan, the orchestra of the RAI, the New Japan Philharmonic and the Camerata Salzburg.

During these performances she combined her talent with that of renowned chefs such as Erich Leinsdorf, Sándor Végh, Herbert Blomstedt, André Prévin, Claudio Abbado, Seiji Ozawa, Iván Fischer, Riccardo Chailly, Simon Rattle and many others.

In recital she played with M. Argerich, AR El Bacha, P. Rogé, W. Manz, G. Kremer, P. Graffin, T. Zehetmair, N. Imai, K. Kashkashian, M. Maisky and A. Meneses. . 

In 2016 she became president of the international music competition in Sendai (Japan) for violin.
