Israeli pianist Maria Yulin regularly performs throughout Europe, Russia and Israel as a soloist and chamber musician. She has appeared on Israeli Educational TV and Bulgarian TV and her recordings are broadcast on the Portuguese National Classical Radio and the Israeli Classical Music Radio channel "Kol Hamuzika".
Born in Saint Petersburg, where she began her musical education, she emigrated with her family to Jerusalem, where she studied with Luiza Yoffe at the "HaSadna" Conservatory. She graduated in 2009 and continued her academic studies at HMTM Hannover (Germany) under the supervision of Professor Gerrit Zitterbart. Today she lives in Berlin and studies at the University of the Arts with Professor Klaus Hellwig.
Maria has won prizes in many international piano and chamber music competitions, including: the “Filippo Trevisan” International Piano Competition (2014), “Val Tidone” International Piano Competition (2014), the “Campillos International Piano Competition” (Spain 2010), the “Neue Sterne Klavierwettbewerb” (Germany 2012) and the Israeli National Piano Competition (Ashdod, Israel 2006), a special prize winner for modern music at the CIPCE International Piano Competition (Spain 2011), second prize winner of the TelHai Concerto Competition in memory of Yasha Bistrizky (Israel 2013) and a special Mozart Prize during the piano competition “Pnina Salzman” (Israel 2006). She received the outstanding participant award at the “Pnina Salzman” (2013) and certificates for outstanding performance at the Tel-Hai Piano Festival (Israel 2008, 2010).
She has participated in various master classes, including with Murray Perahia, Nikolai Petrov, Oksana Yablonskaya, Norma Fisher, Jose Ribera and Tamas Ungar.
Maria has received fellowships from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation (2004-2009), Zefunot Culture, LMN Foundation in Hannover and in Berlin, Paul Hindemith Society and the Clavarte Foundation.
